We’re excited to announce that EpiSafe Research Fellow, Fatima Junaid, has been awarded second place for best overall oral presentation at the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RCOG) World Congress in Muscat, Oman. Competing among over 1,700 abstracts, Fatima’s talk highlighted key findings from the UK’s first national audit of pregnant women with epilepsy.

“It was a great opportunity to talk about the current antenatal care these women receive and the work we’re doing with EpiSafe to improve it.”
Fatima Junaid reflecting on the experience

Held from 15-17 October 2024, the RCOG Congress offers O&G professionals from around the world the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in a variety of specialties..

This prestigious event enabled EpiSafe, through the audit, to highlighted current care practices across the UK, underlining the importance of early access to specialist care—a core principle in EpiSafe’s mission to support safe pregnancies for women managing epilepsy.

Fatima’s recognition at RCOG is a testament to her dedication and commitment to advancing knowledge in this important area of women’s health. Her work not only brings attention to the unique needs of pregnant women with epilepsy but also reinforces EpiSafe’s commitment to improving the quality of care and health outcomes for these women and their children.
